An autumn walk along Suffolk's beautiful beach at Walberswick, a rather windswept set of watercolour sketches that I've worked up in acrylic on board
Heacham, North Norfolk
My first visit to Heacham, Norfolk, was on a strange warm Halloween in 2014, the silver sunlight and long shadows inspired a set of sketches in watercolour which I later painted up in acrylic.
Vineyard of Moulin de Breuil, S. France (commission) limited edition available
Perched on a wall in the shade after a lengthy chat with the charming vineyard owner and master winemaker Count De Massi I made a series of sketches that resulted in this watercolour of the vineyard building and the beautiful stone house or 'Mas'. This painting is available as a high quality limited edition print.
Can des Loste, S.France
Next to the lovely vineyards at Moulin de Breuil are the stables of Can des Loste, set against a background of the impressive Pyrenees as they head to the Spanish French border and on to the sea. A beautiful part of France enjoyed by visiting artists including Matisse, Picasso, Dufy and even Renee Mackintosh.
Ostuni, Puglia, Italy
Italy's South Eastern coast with brilliant aqua green sea and volcanic rock, it is stunning and i enjoyed painting a series of small watercolours while visiting Ostuni.
Where the Pyrenees meet the Mediteranean sea the pretty fishing village of Collioure is a favourite with artists. I chose to walk along the exposed cliff path on a, in hindsight, too windy day. The sea was whipped up along the rocks and it was a dramatic walk into the sheltered harbour. Making sketches along the way. I worked this painting up large and bold in acrylic back in my studio.
Floral vibe (SOLD)
Fresh and joyful this painting is part of a new series of acrylic works inspired by my 1970's teenage years, pop culture, pop colour with a twist of retro and a splash of contemporary design.

I am interested in the movement of colour and light, I enjoy the atmosphere watercolour creates leaving an impression of emotion and sensation. I am inspired by simple lines and washes of colour, I've recently started to paint in acrylic and am enjoying the textures and opacity of layering paint. I offer original paintings and prints for sale and also work to commission. Recent clients have included a French Vineyard, a Norwich firm of architects and visitors to the suffolk coast...
I also teach painting and drawing at: Anglia Ruskin Students, Hills Road VI Form College to Adults and work with learners of all ages at The Fitzwilliam Museum. I run regular painting classes and welcome new painters at all levels.
