I graduated from Chelsea School of Art in 1985 and have continued to produce my art work alongside my second passion of travelling. My sketch books have provided a valuable source of visual research which has fed into my paintings. Destinations including Morocco, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Iberian Peninsular, Italy , Turkey, Ireland, Orkney Islands and London,  have been recorded in my sketch books and lead to larger scale oil paintings and collages. I will often include collage material in the form of old  maps, postcards, documents to create a sense of change within the locaion .Each new destination has inspired me to work in a different way by experimenting with paint techniques including sgraffito, flooding surfaces, collage, screen-print and mixed media on wood paper and canvas. , With my recent work I have been exploring and drawing on location in the spectacular Cairngorm region and Glencoe valley, Scotland and the Northumberland coast. With the ever changing light and weather creating dramatic forms and textures, the coastlines of Ireland and Britain and wetlands of East Anglia, which always prove challenging and exciting subjects. Whilst travelling I have exhibited in New Zealand and Portugal. In the U.K I have exhibited in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Cambridge, Ely, Snape Maltings, Bury St. Edmunds, Newmarket and Abbots Ripton. I have recently exhibited at the Alison Richards Building in Cambridge, L'Artische Gallery in Swanage Addenbrooke's Atrs, Michaelhouse Centre Camridge, where I exhibited a collection of paintings depicting aspects of Cambridge .I have participated in the Cambridge Open Studios since 2003. I have run workshops for adults and children and undertake commissions.
