My watercolour paintings are printed onto quality fabrics such as velvets and chenille, I then make cushions and accessories for you and your home. This is a different way of using my paintings!
July Open Studios
Caliston Art only really started for me last year when I started painting with oil paint and immediately fell in love with the process. As you can see from my shop, I have a particular love of painting the sea and all things coastal, surprising you might think as I live a good hour and half from the coast. But I love the colours of the ocean, the ever changing sky and the openness of the coastline. The name Caliston has actually derived from my initials and surname and then they just got joined together. So the name Caliston Art was born and I really like the ring it has!
I have attended many art fairs and exhibitions and hope to grow my presence at these events and online.
My watercolour paintings are an illustrative style of often recognisable places around the UK and overseas. Professionally printed onto quality fabrics, such as chenille, velvet and cotton linen. I then design and sew a range of pieces, including cushions, pouches and other accessories, turning my paintings into luxurious yet functional products for everyday use.I love the journey my art is taking me on and it is an exciting thought that as this creative direction continues, my skills as a painter allows me to take on bigger challenges.
I attend many art and craft fairs and shows in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex and enjoy meeting new people. It is especially exciting when I meet people that recognise a scene from my paintings or find an emotional connection to my work.
