My work mostly focuses on tableware, but I also create vases for the table and some jewellery pieces.
Each piece is thrown on the potter's wheel and individually decorated. Some pieces are altered after throwing. Texture and pattern are added through carving or indentation making each piece tactile and satisfying to the inquisitive hand.
I use porcelain clay which gives a delicate translucent quality to my work, and is perfect for the subtle colours that I use. When designing my glazes, I aim for natural colours reminiscent of the plants, land and sky. Pieces can be mixed and matched as the colours blend well together.
Teaching available from my Studio (see website) and Wednesday evening classes at Hills Road 6th Form College.
