Ann Brown
painting
Gardens, mountains, trees and water. I explore whatever fascinates and intrigues me using pencil, pastel, ink, watercolour, acrylic or oil.

I use a variety of different media to paint and draw mainly landscape but also the occasional still life or figure composition.  I like to create peaceful, sensitive and detailed pictures which reflect my love of nature and in particular its curving, flowing lines and contrasting textures.  I attempt to express the interplay between opposites, particularly of colour, tone, form and texture.

I graduated in Fine Art (painting) from Norwich Art School, and trained as an art teacher at Goldsmiths College London, after which I taught in secondary schools for a number of years.  I have lived in Cambridgeshire since 1996.
